The South London Art Tour
"Pay what you can"

Here at the South London Art Map we like to make art available to all. Maximise the potential of the Map by joining one of our guided tours, led by a local artist or curator, visiting local galleries and studios. Get a behind-the-scenes look at this growing art scene and be introduced to gallery owners and artists along the way. All you have to do is turn up and pay what you can. There is no limit (either way!) for the amount you pay. The main thing is that you pay what you can! SLAM suggests £5 as an average donation.

Are you coming? Tell us via our Facebook page. See you South!

Last Fridays Tours

From 6.30–8.30 pm on the last Friday of every month, these tours explore the late night opening of galleries and studios. This is a great night to catch private views, events, talks and performances and have a glass of wine or beer as you go.

Choose from our tours which rotate around each of our three hubs: Deptford, Peckham or Bankside, ending at the pub or the official after-party for each area. What a great social way to enjoy LAST FRIDAYS with the opportunity to meet fellow art enthusiasts!

Check details of upcoming events here and on our Facebook page.

Daytime Tours

From 2–4 pm on the first Saturday of every month, these walking tours are a relaxed opportunity to amble around exhibitions, studios and events. This is a great opportunity to meet artists and gallery directors face-to-face, to enjoy striking architecture and the daytime flavour of each location including markets, cafes and boutiques. Meet the South London Art Guides And Slammers

  • Adam Walker
    Adam Walker
Adam Walker is an artist who is currently exploring boundary, legacy and aftermath through his work. When he does occasionally leave his studio, he shares and explores his practice with young people as an artist-educator at Tate Modern and Camden Arts Centre. He is also an art writer and regularly contributes to several art magazines. He studied Cultural Geography at Cambridge University prior to studying Fine Art at Camberwell College of Arts and continues to be fascinated by the diverse cultural geographies of South London as it constantly evolves. He has always found it to be an inspiring place to live and work: there always seems to be a new exhibition or event in the least likely of places and it never ceases to surprise.

  • Motoko Fujita
    DEPTFORD SLAMMER: Motoko Fujita
Motoko Fujita is a BA (Hons) Photography student at Camberwell College of Arts, currently exploring deconstruction and reconstruction of imagery. Working with Photography she intends to produce a broad range of work incorporating drawing, moving image, and sound in order to maximise potential for experimentation with her ideas. Originally from Japan, Motoko has lived on Deptford High Street since her arrival to London in 2011 and has been fascinated by the vibrant artistic culture in the area ever since: Volunteering for Deptford X 2012 this summer has only strengthened her passion for the area, and for further engagement in local artistic activities.
  • Luke Neve
    PECKHAM SLAMMER: Luke Neve
Whilst initially studying Interior Design at the Glasgow School of Art Luke Neve decided to take a different career direction and attempt to make a living out of what he enjoyed most at university – organising/visiting exhibitions, throwing parties and introducing people to artists and designers they could find inspiring. After interning in MK Gallery he moved to South London to work further in the arts and build on his previous experience. Specialising in arts communication he is most interested in talking to people about creativity either through formal interviews or casual conversation and hopes to expand and share these views on arts/culture through his new blog. He loves South London for its inventive and unapologetic nature and for the unexpected places artists have found to show their work.
