We are pleased to be working with the following individuals who help us select member visual arts organisations and some content for the South London Art Map. They have all worked in, live or have a great interest in South East London!
Jonathan Kearney
Jonathan Kearney is a British artist, Course Leader for MA Fine Art Digital and Postgraduate Programme Director at University of the Arts London: Camberwell College of Arts. He has worked with numerous galleries in the UK and abroad both as an exhibiting artist and curator. Having lived in Peckham, South East London for 25 years he has gained experience with galleries as diverse as ICA, Tate and V&A as well as emerging artist platforms like the House Gallery in Camberwell in the early 2000s and various art festivals. Jonathan also lived in China for several years working with galleries in Beijing and Shanghai and also as Gallery Director for TCG Nordica in Kunming. He has a particular interest in the dialogue between art and the digital environment and the way this both challenges and creates new opportunities for art practice and learning.
Synthia Griffin
Synthia Griffin is Curator: Regeneration and Community Partnerships at Tate Modern working on the cultural centred urban renewal programme which has transformed the area nieghbourhouring Tate Modern. She has worked for a range of organisations including a county council supporting the commissioning of a series of large scale public artworks as well as the Crafts Council providing critical support to emerging artists and designers. She is a keen cyclist and passionate about the role artists can place in reimagining the cities we live in.
